1dMany Old Brazilian Names

This one isn't tied to the broader setting, you can use it as a table for any civilisation that speaks a language that resembles Portuguese. Be advised that they'll come across as very old-fashioned.

I had a table of Franconigerian names prepared for this. Indigenous people would have a Franconigerian name to use socially, while Pericarnassians are given Franconigerian names at birth since Fan-Fan names fell out of favour over time.

Many of these names have an equivalent in English, but it's too many of them to provide proper translations. As a rule, Á is read as "ah", Ú as oo (like pool), Í as ee (like in pee), NH is pronounced like the Spanish Ñ or a very fast "nya" (or nyo, or whatever is the following vowel) where you barely pronounce the Y, and ÃO is read as "-on" (like John). It's fine to butcher the pronunciation.

First, roll for name structure. It is very common for normal people to have 2 surnames, but only the wealthy bother with 3 surnames. More than 3 surnames is reserved only for aristocrats.

1. Name + Surname

2. Name + Name + Surname

3. Name + Name + Surname + Surname

4. Name + Name + Surname + Surname + Surname

Then roll for Name (you'll need an online dice roller for this). In parenthesis I've put some common, informal nicknames. These names aren't adjusted for popularity, if you need a quick name always assume João or José for men and Maria for women.

So, for instance, a man named Irineu José Dias Pimenta might be just called Zé Dias by his buddies, Mr. Pimenta by business associates, Irineu José when his mom means business, Zézinho as a kid, and sign his name as Irineu J. D. Pimenta.

You can always add -inho to a name to make it a diminutive, or cut out a syllable and repeat the start of the following one to create a brand new nickname. For instance, cut the Iri- out of Irineu and repeat the "ne" and you get Neneu, a perfectly acceptable nickname.

Women often have very repetitive names. Usually it's Ana (Something) or Maria (Something).
